How to Program a Chamberlain Universal Garage Door Opener Keypad

Chamberlain garage door openers are popular for their reliability and user-friendly features. Many models come equipped with a universal keypad, allowing you to open your garage door without needing a remote. Programming the keypad is a straightforward process that can be done in a few simple steps. This guide outlines the steps involved in programming a Chamberlain universal garage door opener keypad.

Step 1: Locate the Learn Button

The first step is to find the "Learn" button on your garage door opener. It is usually located on the motor unit itself. The "Learn" button is typically a small, red button that you will need to press to put the opener in programming mode.

Step 2: Putting the Keypad in Programming Mode

Next, you need to put the keypad in programming mode. To do this, you will need to press the "Program" button on the keypad. This button is usually located on the bottom left corner of the keypad. Once you press the "Program" button, the keypad will emit a series of beeps to indicate that it is in programming mode. This also signifies that the keypad memory has been cleared and is ready to store a new code.

Step 3: Press the Learn Button

With the keypad in programming mode, locate the "Learn" button on the garage door opener motor unit.
